I have got to say I enjoyed this a lit more than i thought i would. The book is 19 chapters/short stories of Harley, and they are all fun and entertaining. Yes I enjoyed a couple more than others but I can't think of one I did not enjoy on some level.

They are not in chronology order, to be they were just fun as ot was a surprise of which Harley the story would be about. I especially liked that they included a story from the White Knight universe.

Usually when I read a book of short stories, (each be a different writer, artist or creative team), I find usually prefer the teams closest to the way I see the character. With Harley's psychosis/multiple personalities I can see every version being true to character.

This is a great fun book of Harley stories. Different visions, concepts and even artwork but everything in this book worked for me.

I'm not a huge Harley fan, but this was actually a fairly entertaining anthology of short stories until it got bogged down in several holiday-themed tales in the closing stretch. Also, DC might as well have called this book Harley Quinn Black + White + Red + Gray Wash because they went way overboard on that effect.

Harley Quinn Black + White + Red is a seventeen-issue digital-first issue limited series that centers on Harley Quinn in her many interpretations. Every issue is a standalone title in relation to each other penned and penciled by different artistic teams. Harley Quinn Black + White + RedL collects all seventeen issues of the 2020 limited series with two additional stories made specifically for the trade paperback.

For the most part, this collection of vignettes was written and constructed rather well. Each nineteen vignettes are a quarter the size of the typical comic book (about ten pages) and were created by different creative teams with a varied of stories to tell from serious, heartbreaking stories to more fun and silly stories. The art is done in black and white with splashes of shades of red for emphasis.

This limited series has something to offer for every Harley Quinn aficionado as it shows the many and varied aspects of the character and from many continuities. There are stories of the silly and kooky Harley Quinn from the core series and the psychotic madwoman found in Suicide Squad. It also goes beyond the core of the DC Universe and has stories from Batman: The Animated Series, Batman: The White Knight, Harleen, and Harley Quinn the animated series.

Like most anthologies there are weaker contributions and Harley Quinn Black + White + Red is not an exception. There were a rare few stories that didn't resonate well with me, but those seem like outliers and didn't really dilute my reading experiences. However, there is a wildly wide range of talent in the penciling area as there were pencilers that were superb and other not worth the paper it was scratched onto.

All in all, Harley Quinn Black + White + Red is a wonderful tribute and celebrations that is Harley Quinn.

#1 - Stjepan is my favorite artist in comics right now. We get to go back inside his brilliant, cerebral Harleen universe. #1 - Stjepan is my favorite artist in comics right now. We get to go back inside his brilliant, cerebral Harleen universe. I know he's a busy man, but I hope to god maybe one day, we'll get to see his Isley project completed. Harleen is probably the best Harley story ever, and I would die if he even came close to that level of quality in interpreting my other favorite character, who also happens to be severely underdeveloped by DC at large. Until then, at least we're blessed with his fan art and other books.

#2 - Catwoman/Harley fashion show!

#4 - Gotham's underground rap scene. I like the urban, tatted Ivy look.

#8 - Holy 80s shoulder pads, Batman. Harley is out here breaking pirates' faces while springing around in high heels and what looks like very heavy hair. Fantastic. Best quote: "You seem like the types to listen to logic and reason." *Proceeds to knock the shit out of two guys using her fists, named Logic and Reason.*

#9 - Throwback to Batman the animated series. A fresh, but vintage look. Old-school villain Ivy is MEAN but hot as hell. This is the issue she looks her absolute best.

#11 - Harley schools basic thugs on how she would kill the Justice League, then outsmarts Batwoman in a foiled arrest. People can't seem to help themselves when constantly undermining her intelligence, reducing her to a sex object, goofy lunatic, or pathetic victim. It is extremely satisfying whenever she proves these people wrong.

#12 - Nathan the wiener dog ❤️!!!! The scatupult returns!! Harley Crew sleepover!!! "Red Tool" just goes by "The Tool" now, lmao. Amanda Connor/Jimmy Palmiotti do NOT disappoint. Their run is legendary for a reason.

#13 - I laughed way too hard at "Wheat Privilege: A socially conscious bakery." This issue is a nice treat for fans who have to wait for season 3 of the HQ animated series. Bane's dialogue is pure gold. He apologizes for "Banesplaining" the legion of doom, and I cackled. Patrick Schumacker is a gift to the world, man.

There are some duds. Some issues that are pretty forgettable. I think the highs make up for the lows. The one thing that kind of bothered me is that the last issue is a huge downer. Overall: good fun, and cheap $1 issues. The digital format is sleek and enjoyable.

Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red is a collection of 19 short one-issue comics all about Harley Quinn. The stories vary a lot - some are from her time as Joker's girlfriend, some are her after their breakup just living her life as an independent gal, some are her teaming up with her friends, and some are about her and her new love, Poison Ivy. There are eve a few Christmas stories and an Indiana Jones -inspired tale! All these different stories have one thing in common though: the book's color scheme is red, black and white, and all the stories were drawn using only those colors and their different shades. It's a visually stunning book.

I liked how this collection had stories that made me super emotional and broke my heart a little bit, but that it also had stories that were silly and chaotic and made me giggle. I also just loved seeing different sides of Harley - some stories highlighted her villainy, and some really emphasised her loving heart and her devotion to those she loves. It was also lovely to see so many stories focused on her and Ivy. They are my DC OTP, so I was thriving while reading their stories. But, no matter what type of story you like or what kind of take you like on Harley, you will find stories to love. Not all of the stories were my cup of tea, but that's given when it comes to these kinds of collections. You're bound to dislike a few or think some are just "okay".

I also loved how many different kinds of art styles there were, and how all these different creators (writers and artists) got to do their own version of Harley. The shared colour-scheme of the stories made the reading experience extremely visually pleasing. It's one of the most beautiful physical comic books I own and I've started at it for quite a bit, just admiring it. So, well done, in terms of design and art and all that!

Many other significant DC characters have little appearances and cameos in this collection, which was fun. Of course Poison Ivy, the Joker and Catwoman appear quite a bit, but Harley also comes face to face with three Bats - Batman, Batwoman and Batgirl - and we see her hang out with Bane, Scarecrow, Lex Luthor and some of the members of the Gang of Harleys, for example. It was always a lot of fun when a familiar face popped up.

I'd happily recommend this collection to any fan of Harley Quinn! Through reading these different takes on her you really get to see the range and depth this character has, and how many different kinds of things you can explore through her.

Oh, sure, I have my favorites from the collection (Chapters 2, 4, 9, 11, 12, and 13). But you can't argue with the sheer creativity of any of the work. Everyone deserves a HUGE round of applause. (With a special shout-out to Ms. Conner and Mr. Palmiotti for sneaking in that dig at the people with nothing better to do than complain)

Harley Quinn is ubiquitous in the DC world lately, but it feels like writers aren't quite sure just who she is, so they write her stories with a throw the kitchen sink and see what sticks approach. Not much sticks here, and while I was starting to enjoy versions of Harley that I've seen in the Birds of Prey film, Harleen, and the Joker Wars, I struggled to find much I liked in this collection. I guess what Harley is is goofy, cartoony, absurdist comedy. Sometimes it works, and other times, like here, it doesn't.

Then we get to the mediocre, now as I've said there is some great talent on this book. The problem is they're all on the earlier issues, so when you get to the halfway point there isn't a whole lot their. Add to that the majority of the stories focus on Harley breaking up with the Joker, now the earlier ones did it in quite a unique way but these ones just felt like they were skipping to the same tune without adding their own thing to it.

Lastly you have some real stinkers in her, like the Amanda Connors story, I'm sure if you enjoyed the run you might like it. I personally hated her version of Harley, it's not Harley to me. It just feels like she is imitating Deadpool, then you have some stories that are very reminiscent and inspired by that so I hated those as well. I'm not a hater, I read them, I'll give anything a chance. It's just to me that isn't Harley Quinn. I'm Glad Sam Humphries story was it's own thing as he took over the run after them, for the record I enjoyed his stuff and his story in this was inspired by the animated series so what's not to like?

It's good that DC is finally branching out with Harley, as her ongoing was getting a bit stale, grated this was after the talent dried up, I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I enjoyed about half the graphic novel. If it's about Harly Quinn and Poison Ivy, the storylines were better written and it showed the true friendship and bond between those two. Whether they became lovers, later on, who cares? They do as they prove time and time again, when the going gets tough, they're in it, together.

This entire novel takes place after Harley Quinn and Mr. J broke up and she's doing her own thing. She's living life on her terms and it's good to see.

I only gave it three stars

I only gave it three stars because half the book shows her craziness, which she is but it's more like she's the butt of the joke at times and that rubs me the wrong way. Where's my hammer? Kabam!

A collection of small, short stories of Harley Quinn from different artists and different writers. As such, the tone and style differ greatly from one story to the next. Some are dramatic while others are downright nutty. The best story, in my opinion, is the first one by Stjepan Šejić. It's a continuation of his Harleen comic he did last year. I really hope Šejić will keep revisiting Harley Quinn in the future. Other than that, the consistency in quality between stories is pretty irregular. This was a collection of 19 different short stories done by different teams of writers and artists, all in Black, White, and Red. The stories ranged from okay to good, with my favorite being the one that tied into the Harleen book (which makes sense, since that is one of my favorite comics I've read).
The art was fun, but for the most part it didn't have the dark beauty of the current Batman: Black and White books.

A Harley centric anthology. There are hits and misses here. I really don't think a Harley Quinn rap battle was necessary, for example, but Sejic's continuation of his amazing Harley series was a great read. But this started to drag a little over halfway through. Nineteen Harley stories in a row might have been a bit much for me, especially since the last five are all holiday themed. Kind of disappointed. I liked the overall art concept of black, white, and red (red being the variation from the black and white Batman version). Some of the chapters were too sketched for my taste (unclear lines and shading). Most of the chapter plots were pretty silly/shallow, and Harley Quinn has more than that to her.

This collection of stories about Harley Quinn take place in alternate universe(s), and one issue has nothing to do with another. Add to that that in some stories it was hard for me to even tell where one image ended and the next began due to the black and white nature, and it just made for a very disjointed read that wasn't enjoyable for me.
